The Science

Why running + language learning is backed by research

BDNF: Brain Fertilizer

Running triggers BDNF production — a protein scientists call "brain fertilizer". It grows neurons in your hippocampus, the brain's memory center.

PNAS, Erickson et al. 2011

20% Faster Learning

A double-blind study found that learning vocabulary during aerobic exercise is 20% faster — and the advantage lasts over a month.

PLOS ONE, Liu et al. 2017

Rhythm Syncs Language

Your brain processes language and rhythm through shared neural pathways. Running's steady beat acts as a natural metronome for language learning.

Royal Society, 2022

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about RunLingua
